Route

The cruise in the South Dodecanese is very pleasant because the wind will always be stern and never very strong. We will touch several islands that are all different from each other. We will start with Gyali, pumice islet, with the caribbean waters to stop at Tilos, far from mass tourism, with a delightful little harbor where we will sleep.

After a nice breakfast we will continue the cruise towards Chalki and Alimia, two magical islands with beautiful anchors, very close to the west coast of Rhodes. From here we will depart to Symi where we will stay a couple of days to visit both the picturesque country and the magnificent bays of the east coast. To reach the island of Nisiros (the island of the volcano) we will have to sail upwind (medium difficulty), for this reason we will leave very early in the morning. We will sleep in the port of Pali (Nisiros) to return to Kos the day after stopping for the last baths in Gyali.

Simi

Simi is one of the most spectacular islands of the Dodecanese. It is beautiful to moor in the harbor and immerse yourself in the scent of oregano and rosemary and chat in the cockpit of the boat looking at the taverns and bars and the 1000 colors of the houses overlooking the sea. At night, then, it seems to be immersed in a fairy tale.

In the West coast we moor in the most beautiful bays where there is no sand but stones and stones and this makes the water a blue mirror ideal for snorkeling. St. George’s Bay, which can only be reached by sea, is famous for its impressive cliffs and picturesque church on the beach.

Nisiros

Nisiros is a circular volcanic island. We will arrive in the port of Pali which is a village of pesactori, where we will moor. With the scooters we will visit the island and in particular the Vulcano. Walking into the crater of a volcano is a truly exciting experience.

The volcano of Nisyros has been declared no longer active yet it is anything but dead! At the center of the crater there are numerous deep holes of which we can not see the end that still emanate fumes and vapors and on the edges hundreds of micro sulphureous jets emit continuous boiling vapors that create all around beautiful sulfur crystals of a beautiful yellow color. They are very nice even small villages with wonders overlooking the sea where you can enjoy a stunning view

Chalki & Alimia

Chalki is a small and wonderful island once inhabited by many fishermen, then emigrated elsewhere, to the west of the island of Rhodes. Far to mass tourism, today its houses have all been restored following the typical Greek architecture and have pastel colors. The landscape is mountainous with small and rocky beaches. Around the hill is the abandoned village of Hora.
We can not neglect a stop in the beautiful deserted island of Alimia,

Its sheltered natural bays offer a safe haven with crystal clear waters that are renowned for enjoying tranquility and beautiful baths without mass tourism. Very interesting is the visit to the ground of the army barracks that were built during the Italian occupation of the Dodecanese islands (1912-1943) within which, on the walls there are beautiful drawings made by the military.
